Contact your community housing organization. Write a statement about the installation of metering devices for hot and cold water in the apartment and the translation of utility bills according to their indications. Employees of the housing organization are required to provide a list of licensed enterprises specializing in the installation of apartment water meters.

Install water meters by a specialist company. The employees of the installation organization will calculate the number of necessary meters for cold and hot water, depending on the internal wiring of the sewer and water pipes in the apartment.

Before installing the meters, repair the sewer and water pipes, replace faucets and plumbing if necessary. A specialist of the installation company will select a water meter for you according to the technical characteristics of your apartment.

Request the following documents from a specialized meter installation company: installation license, contract for the installation of hot and cold water meters, a certificate of conformity for the enterprise and passports of all installed meters.

Invite representatives of the housing organization after installing water meters for verification. The housing organization will draw up a commissioning report for installed hot and cold water meters. The act is tripartite. It is signed by the utility contractor representing the housing organization, a specialized company involved in the installation of a water meter, and the owner of the apartment.

Conclude an agreement with the housing service to pay utility bills for hot and cold water at the installed meters. Take and pass meter readings for hot and cold water to the public utility. Pay monthly water consumed in accordance with the approved tariff and water meter readings.
