How to get a license for surveying

Geodetic and cartographic activities in our country are subject to the law of 08.08.2001 No. 128-ФЗ "On licensing of certain types of activities", so if your company or you, as an individual entrepreneur, carry out geodetic works, you need to get a license for them. Without it, this type of activity would not be legitimate, and its results could not be presented for acceptance.

In order to obtain a license for surveying, you must submit to your territorial authority that oversees such activities, the relevant application and documents with an inventory. The application and the list of attached documents must comply with the samples approved in order of Rosreestr dated June 29, 2010 No. P / 332 "On approval of the forms of documents used by the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography in the process of licensing geodetic activities and cartographic activities." List in the application all the types of work that your organization will do.

The list of documents - appendices to the application is given in clause 6 of the "Regulation on the licensing of geodetic activities and the Regulation on the licensing of cartographic activities", approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 21, 2006 No. 705. If your company simultaneously performs geodetic and cartographic work, then the package of documents is prepared in a single copy. You will only need to write two statements separately for geodetic and cartographic activities and list in each type of work performed. Lists of specialists who will be engaged in a particular activity are also drawn up separately. A document confirming the experience of a specialist is a copy of his work book.

Form all documents and the application in a separate file folder, they must be considered within 45 days from the date on which the application is registered. During this time, the territorial inspection will verify that your company fulfills the licensing conditions. Prepare for verification a copy of the extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities whose term should not be more than a month. In addition, you will need the originals of diplomas and work books of specialists, documents for geodetic instruments and equipment, and documents confirming their metrological examination. When checking, you will also be asked for information about the officials who will supervise the geodetic and cartographic work.

After paying the state fee and verification, you will be able to obtain a license for these types of activities. The license is valid for 5 years.
