The income that can be obtained by selling the bred puppies will not be proportional to the investments and efforts that will be required to keep the dogs. Therefore, the idea of ​​organizing a nursery itself is more suitable for someone for whom life surrounded by four-legged creatures already seems attractive in itself.

Register your future cattery in a local organization representing the Russian Cynological Federation. According to the rules of the RKF, a person who has reached 18 years of age and has a zootechnical or veterinary education has the right to maintain a dog kennel. If you have not received the appropriate diploma, you can organize a "company" involved in breeding tetrapods, together with another dog breeder who has completed the necessary training course.

Think about where the dog kennel that you intend to open will be located. You can start a business in an apartment, too, but with some expansion, the tightness in space will bring a lot of inconvenience to you and a lot of harm to your pets. For a full nursery, a country house with an area for walking is required. Fresh air is one of the most significant conditions for the breeding of healthy and physically full puppies.

Organize the space at your disposal so that it is divided into non-communicating zones. So, the room for puppies should be completely isolated from the main aviary, sick dogs should also be kept in an isolator, where all other pets will be denied access.

Get a "pedigree" bitch for your kennel - it is she who should begin the existence of your "dog farm". The requirements for such an animal are four tribes of the pedigree and a high score at official exhibitions of the RKF. For breeding dogs of service and hunting breeds, a pedigree female must also pass a number of standards and obtain appropriate diplomas.

If you choose a dog breed for your kennel from a practical point of view, then it’s better to focus on the “dwarf” breeds that are fashionable today - the demand for such puppies is great, and the cost of breeding them is much less.

The more titled the parents of the puppies you bred in your kennel will be, the higher the puppies will be quoted on the market, so your dogs should take part in both single and multi-breed shows several times a year.
