The pawnshop business in Ukraine is quite well developed, but it will be very difficult to open a new enterprise and survive in the market. The reason for this is high competition from large enterprises, increased government attention to this area of entrepreneurship and the need for a large start-up capital. What needs to be done to open a pawnshop?

Do not invest your last money in opening a pawnshop. This business is risky enough, so there is a chance to be left with nothing, and even to be in debt. Get ready to work with a huge number of documents and to constant contacts with various inspection bodies.

Find a suitable room. It should have an area of at least 60 square meters and be divided into several parts: in the first, they accept customers and evaluate the property being mortgaged, in the second, pledges are kept. There should be a room for an accountant and a cashier, as well as a trading room where they sell things that remain unredeemed. The building should be well renovated and beautifully decorated, because according to it, customers will judge your well-being and reliability.

Draw up the necessary paper. This is a very long procedure, but the main documents are permission to trade in jewelry, grant loans, certificates that all your employees have passed the necessary training. You will also need to register an LLC, register with a tax authority and an anti-money laundering organization. This is only a small part of bureaucratic procedures, so be patient.

Equip the room with everything you need. You will need a jewelry scale, a display case, a cash register, a computer with licensed software for pawnshop activities. A large and reliable safe for storing mortgages is also required. Do not risk your company and the health of employees, set an alarm and hire security.

Pick up staff. You will need to find an accountant, cashier and merchandiser-appraiser. The prosperity of a pawnshop depends on the appraiser, so choose a professional. You will also need an administrator, but you can perform its functions yourself.

Define interest rates, and you can open a pawnshop. If the company stays afloat, all the costs of its organization will pay off in one to two years.
