The export of goods from the supplier is an important stage in the supply chain, thanks to which the work of your company will be harmonious and uninterrupted. In order to deliver the goods on time and without loss of quality, it is advisable to arrange transportation independently.

Instruction manual

1

Confirm with the supplier the approximate date of dispatch of the goods. If it is a long distance and a large load, try to arrange delivery as early as possible. Define the conditions under which the goods will be exported. If your counterparty assumes the delivery of the goods to the transport company or to your warehouse, you will only have to control the process. However, it is often much more profitable to independently find a trusted carrier and take out the goods without additional costs and commissions.

2

Choose the transport company that will deliver. Compare tariffs and terms of transportation: in different companies they can vary significantly. Make an application according to the template of the carrier. In it you will indicate the date of shipment, dimensions and weight of the goods, exact addresses, as well as special conditions.

3

Ask your supplier for a package of supporting documents. It should include: 1. Invoice for payment. 2. Packing List. 3. Quality certificates. After sending the goods, the supplier sends you a copy of the bill of lading, with which you can get accurate information about the location of the cargo and its characteristics. When it comes to import, a certificate of origin of goods and an export declaration from your foreign counterparty will be added to the above documents.

4

Remember the tracking number of your shipment. Using this number, you can always find out the location of the cargo and control the time of its arrival at the destination station.

5

Wait for the notification of the arrival of goods from the transport company. Receive the goods at the specified address by presenting an identity document (or a power of attorney from the company), a copy of the supporting documents and the bill of lading.

Useful advice

Take care in advance of the special conditions due to which your cargo will arrive at the destination station in complete safety. Among them are insurance, security, careful conditions for the transportation of fragile goods, and special temperature conditions.
