How to start working in a taxi for yourself

On September 1, 2011, in some regions of Russia, Federal Law No. 69 “On the Carriage of Passengers and Baggage by Passenger Taxi” came into force. In this regard, before you start working in a taxi for yourself, you need to find out if your region is on the list of those where this law already applies.

Familiarize yourself with Federal Law No. 69 “On the Carriage of Passengers and Baggage by Passenger Taxi” and find out if you should receive permits for the implementation of taxi driver services privately. The list of regions in which this law already applies includes: Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Penza regions, Altai Territory and the Republic of Komi.

Register with the tax authorities IP (or, if you plan to further expand your business and open a taxi service, legal entity). Obtain registration documents. In addition, you will need to issue travel coupons at the tax office.

Prepare your car. To do this, go through MOT, solve all problems with insurance, set an alarm and equip a taxi driver's security system (steering wheel, ignition, etc.). Be sure to install a taximeter (counter). Please note: if you don’t put a checkered flashlight on your car or decorate it with appropriate airbrushing, indicating that passenger transport is carried out on this car, you may be fined.

Order business cards with your full name, USRN data and mobile phone number at the advertising agency. By the way, it is best if you have another mobile phone - specifically for work, and its number is six or seven-digit, for the convenience of remembering. Have a physical examination at the district clinic.

Contact your local transportation department for a license to transport passengers and baggage. State duty for granting a license is not charged. You will be asked to provide the following documents: - a certified copy of the passport: - certified copies of the certificate of registration of the vehicle in your name; - extracts from the EGRIP / Unified State Register of Legal Entities; - a certificate from the tax inspectorate on registration; - documents confirming the presence of your own parking or garage; - medical certificate.

Within 3 days you will receive a license that will be valid for 5 years, provided that you comply with all the requirements for a private taxi.
