How to register a legal address

The selection and registration of a legal address is one of the most important steps in registering a legal entity. Without performing this procedure, it is impossible to register a company, and therefore, start your own business.

To register a legal address, rent a real office and agree with the owner to provide a legal address to your company. Provide the following documents to the registration authority: a certificate of ownership (confirming the existence of a legal address and the legality of ownership by the owner), as well as a letter of guarantee in your name from the address owner and a lease agreement (confirming your attitude to this address).

If renting an office is too expensive for you or the owner did not agree to provide you with a legal address, register the company at your home address. To do this, get a written permission from all family members living at this address, an extract from the house book and a copy of the personal account. However, in this case, remember that if as a result of commercial activities your company has any problems, then third parties may have claims to the legal address of the organization.

If you do not have enough time for this, contact a company that is professionally engaged in the registration of legal addresses. Search these companies online or hire an intermediary to find them. However, before contacting such an organization, check its reliability. If it has been on the market for several years and has not caused complaints from customers, then you can cooperate with it.

Conclude a mail service contract. If this is not done, then all correspondence that is intended for your company will be sent to the legal address. If the actual address of your company is different from the legal one, all letters will be sent back to the senders. This can lead to unpleasant consequences. For example, the Federal Tax Service Inspectorate will require you to provide any documents within ten days, and you will know about it after your company is fined.

The term "legal address" is not in the legislation of the Russian Federation. However, this phrase so firmly entered into business circulation that it began to be used even in official documents.

Carry out business activities at the address indicated in the constituent documents. Failure to comply with this condition may be interpreted as the provision of unfair information to the registration authority, which may lead to undesirable consequences, including the liquidation of the company.
