How to build a composition model

In any system, components are distinguished, the interaction of which should lead to the achievement of the goal. In turn, each part can be divided into small components. Indivisible components are called elements; they play the main role in the process of obtaining the result. The composition model helps to determine these components, which subsequently seriously facilitates the task of developing a project at the enterprise. Consider the process of its construction on the example of a microwave oven.

Build a black box model and define the "inputs" and "outputs" of the system. Resources and final results will determine which components should be used. Break the black box model into several patterns that reflect different tasks. For example, “microwave as a technical system” and “microwave as a cooking tool”. In the first case, the goal is the correct operation of the device, in the second - finished food.

After that, build the initial composition model. Indicate the main subsystems that will be included in each of the options. For example, for a microwave oven to work, you need a camera, a heating mechanism, and a cooling mechanism. Break each subsystem into separate elements that ensure its functioning. In our case, these are door locks, an internal lighting lamp, a control panel and a display, and so on. This procedure must be repeated for each system.

Define the main goal. Highlight the system whose work most strongly affects the achievement process. Describe the composition model using a deeper level of detail. Carry out a comprehensive analysis and identify all the components necessary for a successful result. Place everything in a table and generate a report. This model allows you to purchase an almost ready-made solution to any problem.

The composition model for different purposes can differ significantly, even if we are talking about the same system. Therefore, having determined the wrong target, you can unsuccessfully close the project. Within the enterprise, this promises big losses.

When preparing a report, indicate not only the name of the element, but also the required quantity. If we are talking about technical devices, it is better to apply the scheme and mechanism of work.
