How to draw up a contract of carriage

Companies providing freight transportation services must draw up contracts with counterparties. The subject of the transaction will be these very services. The contract has legal force, it is necessary to treat its execution very responsibly, because it is this document that regulates the relations of the parties.

Begin the execution of the contract by indicating the date, number and place of preparation of the document. In the main text, first write down the name of the parties, as well as the documents according to which the persons act, for example, the Charter of the company, power of attorney, etc.

In the first paragraph of the contract, enter information about the subject of the transaction. Here also provide information on the addresses of loading and unloading cargo. In the second paragraph, discuss the obligations of the parties. For example, the customer agrees to pay for the services before the due date. The contractor must complete the work on time, ensure the safety of the transported property.

In the next paragraph, provide information on the transaction value and payment procedure. For example, you can write that work is carried out only after making 50% deposit. The customer must pay the invoice at the bank details specified in the contract. Indicate the number of days during which the customer must make the final payment.

Next, fill out the paragraph on the liability of the parties. Here you should write the size of the fine and the penalty in case of violation of the delivery time of the goods or payment of the bill. Also here include information on the procedure for dealing with damage to the transported property.

Be sure to include in the contract a clause on the procedure for resolving disputes and the operation of the contract. If you want it to be automatically renewed, insert a paragraph on the extension of the document. Next, write the details of the parties, sign the document and stamp the organizations.

You can also make an annex to a legal document. It usually lists the names of the transported property, the number of objects, as well as their value. The agreement must refer to this list.
