Customs declaration - a document for goods transported across the state border. They can be either industrial or commercial, as well as personal. The law provides for a certain amount of cargo, which should be documented. For business, a customs declaration is required.

What is a customs declaration

The document in its form is single, contains data on the goods being transported and its owner, buyer, seller. The declaration can be executed both by a representative of a legal entity, and by a simple passenger who carries through the customs office items that are subject to appropriate accounting by customs, and are taxed.

The key fields of the customs declaration form, which are mandatory, are:

  • Date of filling in the form

  • full list of declared goods,

  • nomenclature group

  • country of origin

  • type of transport by which the cargo is transported.

It is mandatory to declare industrial goods and personal items bought abroad or transported abroad for sale, as souvenirs, cash, and other valuables.

Documents for declaration can be of four types - GDT (cargo), passenger (for individuals), TS (for vehicles), transit. Before proceeding with the preparation of the declaration, it is necessary to clarify its type with a specialist and examine all the nuances and the rules for filling out the form.
