Instruction manual

1

At first glance, it seems that designing a cafe is quite simple. But actually this is real art. In order for your institution to become truly popular and successful, bring you stable income, you need to make it not only attractive in appearance, but also convenient for visitors.

2

If this is your first time designing a cafe, then you need to consider all the intricacies of these institutions. The obligatory components of a cafe are a kitchen, a hall for visitors, rooms for official use, toilets (you can still organize a bar, a small dance floor, etc., but this is at your discretion). To visually consider all possible layout options, cut out small rectangles from cardboard. Each of them will denote functionally significant premises (kitchen, hall for visitors, etc.).

3

Now combine your rectangles in succession, choosing the most successful combination. Adhere to the established rules.

4

The kitchen door should not directly go into the hall. Also make sure that the smell of the food is not going into the room. Place the kitchen so that it is not visible to customers, but at the same time do not place it too far - otherwise the serving time may increase.

5

Toilets for visitors are located in the opposite wing of the kitchen. Bathrooms should also be located at some distance from visitors, but not too far away so that they can be easily found.

6

Office rooms (equipment storage rooms, premises for employees) should be placed behind the toilets. Design the entrances to the staff rooms so that you can get there from other office rooms without leaving the hall.

7

Now draw a more accurate cafe plan. Reflect in the new drawing all architectural solutions and design tricks that make the room convenient for both visitors and staff. Pay attention to fig. 1. All requirements are considered here. The kitchen doors are closed by additional walls, this allows you to hide the workflow from the eyes of the client. Toilets are connected to the office premises with additional doors, so visitors will never see cleaners with equipment going to clean the bathrooms. The kitchen is also connected to the office premises, so in the event of an emergency, the staff will be able to take action promptly and invisibly to the guests of your cafe. Be sure to make two emergency exits in case of fire and place fire extinguishers next to the utility rooms.
