Who needs to register with the Assay Office

Registration for special registration in the state inspection of assay supervision of the State Assay Chamber is necessary for operations with precious metals and stones.

If you work with precious metals - wholesale or retail trade, purchase of precious metals or stones from the population, processing and cutting, pawnshop activity - then you must register with the Assay Office before starting the activity.

Not subject to special registration in the Assay Chamber:

- an organization (regardless of the legal form) or an individual entrepreneur that produces precious metals and precious stones in accordance with licenses of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation for the use of subsurface resources;

- organizations that use in their activities chemical compounds of precious metals for analysis or for medical purposes (medical preparations), silver-containing photosensitive materials, products of gold mining, containing precious metals, paints, equipment, devices, tools, electronic equipment, ballasts and devices automatics, component parts, units containing precious metals;

- companies that use natural diamonds in their tools and / or in products for industrial purposes and which do not produce these tools, remake or repair them;

- organizations that purchase and / or use precious stones classified as unsuitable for the manufacture of jewelry in accordance with the criteria and procedures established by the Government of the Russian Federation;
