Make it a rule in your store to write down each sold item in a special notebook. Put it at the cash desk and demand from the sellers a daily report on how many and what goods were sold.

Open a file in Word Excel on your computer. Each month has a separate page. In the first column, write down all the names of goods from the assortment of the store, including weight, manufacturing company, packaging. If you buy goods more often than once a month, then add a new number each time. The third column - for the quantity of goods sold - add it every day at the end of the working day. When the supplier brings the goods, recount everything, make sure that the quantity matches the figure in the supplier’s documents. Do not forget to note the amount of goods received in a computer file.

At the end of each month, conduct an audit. Count the goods on shelves in the store and in the warehouse. At the same time, immediately check if any product has expired. Put such a product aside immediately. In order not to lose profit from these goods, agree in advance with suppliers that they will exchange the goods not sold for fresh ones. Compare the number of products on the shelves with the remainder in your computer file. The numbers must match.

If the profit of your outlet allows additional investments in business development, install a special scanner at the checkout, and the program for reading bar codes will itself calculate how much and what kind of product has been sold, and how much is not sold.
