How to create an airline

Creating your own airline is a mega-cost affair and pays off only in the long run. However, now there is a constant increase in air transportation throughout the world. Therefore, probably, you should still take a chance and try to create your own company.

Assess your financial ability to create an airline. In the first years of its existence, any airline will need a powerful investment and bring only losses. Even low-cast projects will need constant financial stimulation.

Assess the need for an airline in your area. Find out which routes are the most popular and which are the least competitive. Find out which types of aircraft are the most reliable, easy to operate, comfortable and least costly. Use the experience of successful Russian and foreign companies in your research. Make a business plan for the future enterprise.

Address investors who want to provide their capital with profitable investments and outline the prospects for cooperation with you. Typically, investors are asked to submit certificates and registration documents. Therefore, in parallel, start creating a package of documents for the registration of your airline, which can be long-term (from one to five).

Lease or buy planes. When choosing an aircraft, focus on what class your company will be. In any case, purchase only those aircraft that have all the accompanying documents (and if you plan to fly abroad, then additional safety certificates).

Sign an agreement with one of the airports for the rental of premises and runways, as well as for aircraft maintenance. If you are a subsidiary of an airline that has its own base, then such an agreement does not need to be concluded. If your founder is a large investor, then he himself agrees with the airport to rent and provide services.

Place your job advertisements in the media and on the airport website with which you have a rental agreement. Conduct all interviews in person in the presence of invited experts.

Register a legal entity (LLC), get a register and, having formed a package of documents, get a certificate of a subsidiary or a certificate of an operator in the Ministry of Transport. The package of documents may include:

- registration documents of a legal entity;

- agreements with investors and parent enterprises;

- accompanying documents of aircraft;

- flight books and licenses of private pilots of your employees;

- Information about the leased premises and the runway at the airport of registration.

Make a flight schedule, organize ticket sales, place mass advertising of your airline in the media, the Internet, in the airport building.
