Determine which forging method you will use in your enterprise. Today, an increasing number of entrepreneurs are choosing to use cold forging. With this method, metal blanks are stamped or bent on special machines. As a result, the initial elements are obtained from the long profile, which are subsequently assembled by welding into a variety of openwork forged products.

If you intend to avoid exhausting physical labor and free up labor, choose the use of machine tools. They are reliable, easy to operate and safe to operate. Maintenance of cold forging machines does not require special qualifications.

Learn the basic steps in cold forging. These include: designing a product sketch; manufacturing of forged elements; assembly of metal construction; primer, coloring and patination.

Determine what areas of work you will need to open your blacksmithing business. Production should include a blacksmith shop, an assembly area and a paint shop. To accommodate production capacity, you need a space of about 500 square meters. m. Provide a place for auxiliary and domestic premises (warehouse, packaging area, sanitary unit, etc.).

Assess the need for equipment and tools. Please note that you will need forging machines, welding machines, tables for assembling forged products, a cutting machine for cutting and chopping, a grinder, a compressor with a spray gun for painting finished products.

Find the right room for you. The ideal option is to rent part of the workshop at a metal processing enterprise. As a rule, such a place is already minimally prepared for blacksmithing and requires only the installation of forging equipment.

Estimate the need for staff. To organize production, at least three blacksmith workers, three to four welders, a painter and two engineering and technical workers will be required.
