How to sell jewelry

Jewelry, jewelry made of precious metals and stones do not belong to everyday goods. Their sale is regulated by special rules established normatively. Such rules, containing restrictions on the sale of jewelry, are binding on all business entities. Retail sale of jewelry can be carried out through a specialized trading network, including jewelry stores and the corresponding departments of department stores. The sale of such products in a small retail network, in markets and with hands is prohibited.

Existing requirements impose on stores and departments engaged in the sale of jewelry, the obligation to have weight measuring instruments of the corresponding types and accuracy class. In this case, measuring instruments must have a state mark and be tested in the manner prescribed by regulatory enactments.

Special requirements are also imposed on employees of enterprises engaged in customer service. They must be professionally trained, know the range and characteristics of the goods, including the names of precious metals, their samples, the names of stones, their color, weight, shape of cutting.

The seller should be able to give qualified advice to the buyer when choosing a product and transfer to the buyer goods that meet the quality requirements for it.

The buyer is free to choose the product, check its quality, completeness, weight and price. The buyer has the right to require the seller to provide him with a control and measuring device and documents confirming the price of a product.

Jewelry is not subject to return and exchange with their proper quality.

If a product is found to be deficient or falsified, the buyer may require the organization that sold the product to him to eliminate the defects free of charge, reimburse the costs of eliminating the defects, replace the product with a similar one, reduce the price, and compensate for the losses it incurred.

Realized jewelry should contain a marking that carries information about the name of the product, the manufacturer’s trademark, and the name of the metal alloy. The sample, product weight, price per gram or price of the whole product must also be affixed.

The sold jewelry should have sealed trademarks, which are attached to the weight product with a thread. In some cases, the trademark may be in individual packaging.

It is forbidden to trade in jewelry without a print of the state assay mark.

The sale of jewelry is made out with a sales receipt, which is issued in two copies, one of which is issued to the buyer.
