How to get a license to sell alcohol in Kazakhstan

To purchase a license for the sale of alcoholic beverages, a significant package of documents is required. The list can be found in licensing agencies. Since 2011, tax authorities have been engaged in licensing activities for the retail sale and wholesale storage of alcohol in Kazakhstan.

If you intend to engage in wholesale and storage, contact the Tax Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To sell alcohol through retail outlets, you can get a license in the departments of the cities of Almaty, Astana or directly in the areas where you intend to sell alcohol.

To get started, write an application for a license to the appropriate department. Be sure to attach copies of all constituent documents, as well as certificates of registration and registration with the tax authority.

Please note that under the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses", in the absence of registration with the tax authorities, legal and physical persons face administrative liability. The amount of the fine for individual entrepreneurs is 10 monthly calculation indices; for legal entities that are representatives of small or medium-sized businesses - 45 MCI; for representatives of large business - 75 MCI.

The place of sale of alcoholic beverages must comply with sanitary and epidemiological standards, which must be concluded at the SES. Remember that in accordance with the "Law on Licensing", alcohol can be sold at points located within a radius of more than one hundred meters from children's educational institutions.

Call a fire safety specialist who must give an opinion on compliance with the relevant standards.

Take care of the lease or ownership of the premises in which the alcohol will be sold.

Licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan are issued by tax authorities within 30 business days from the date of application and a package of documents. Representatives of small businesses receive licenses no later than 10 days from the date of applying to the tax office.

Import and export of alcoholic products, as well as ethyl alcohol into or from the territory of Kazakhstan can be carried out only by legal entities - residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
