External and internal factors of interpersonal attraction

Interpersonal attraction - a psychological concept that defines attachment, sympathy, the relationship between people. Usually people not only perceive others, they also, among other things, form their own attitude towards them. Attraction in interpersonal relationships is formed by certain factors, which we now consider.

External factors of interpersonal attraction

Most often, we evaluate a person by the ability to file himself. There are external factors that play a significant role, although at first glance they are not particularly related to communication.

1. Sociability, the ability to maintain a conversation, the desire to please, the ability to attract attention. The more a person evokes sympathy with such unpretentious methods, the more attractive he is to others.

2. Spatial proximity. Closeness to each other always causes special trust. Just do not cross a special zone of 0.5 meters, because it is intimate, any intrusion is perceived as a violation of borders.

3. The emotional state of a person. A cheerful and happy person is attractive to others, but a person with depression is no longer so attractive.

That's how people get the impression of a person right away, even before starting a conversation with him.

Internal factors of interpersonal attraction

These attraction factors are formed directly at the time of communication.

1. The main factor is the style of communication. The behavior in the conversation is the most important thing that repels or attracts the interlocutor. Tactlessness, rudeness, rudeness - this is what can forever ruin the attitude towards a person.

2. The resemblance. The more a person resembles you like a lifestyle, status or hobbies, the more he will cause sympathy.

3. Physical attractiveness. Beautiful people always have the ability to communicate - this is a fact.

The above factors can be used intentionally. It doesn’t matter to which person the culture belongs, often the same thing causes sympathy for all people, so these factors are also relevant for attraction in intercultural communication.
