Industrial floors are used in all enterprises. Industrial floors are different, but their main characteristics are strength and durability.

What buildings and facilities require industrial floors?

The efficiency of indoor parking lots, shopping and entertainment centers, production halls, storage facilities depends on the type of flooring, which has a whole list of requirements. The floor should be: non-slip, wear-resistant, resistant to temperature changes and aggressive environments, durable, attractive in appearance and even suitable for the interior.

Types of floors of industrial buildings

The uniqueness of each building under construction carries many nuances, therefore, when choosing floors for industrial buildings, you must definitely turn to the help of professionals.

Concrete based industrial floors

About 80-90 years ago, vacuum dehydration technology was invented, which is so effective that it is still used for pouring concrete floor coverings. Why is this technique relevant today? This is due to the "set" of its advantages:

  1. The main load falls on the top layer, which means that it must be distinguished by high strength characteristics and density. If the floor was erected by means of vacuum dehydration technology, the coating strength increases to 145% of the average value. With ordinary pouring, this indicator is much more modest, it rarely overcomes the mark of 85%.

  2. After the mixture has dried, shrinkage is minimal.

  3. A cove of concrete floor to the bottom tends to zero.

  4. Moisture and air are carefully removed, therefore, the risk of delamination and cracking is reduced.

  5. Vacuum flooring can withstand even sharply negative temperatures. And this is provided that special additives are not introduced into the mixture.

  6. The time taken to commission a floor covering is reduced several times. Vacuum floors can be used after 7-10 days.

Polymer-based industrial floors

Polymeric materials are used to create a decorative layer applied over a concrete base. The use of such a coating allows you to:

  1. Reduce the cost of cleaning the premises, because the polymer coating is endowed with dirt and dust repellent properties.

  2. To increase the resistance of bulk floors to aggressive environments.

  3. To facilitate the work of staff. Polymer flooring is easy to clean even with professional household cleaning products.

  4. Improve the aesthetics of the room. At the request of the customer, additional elements can be introduced into the composition of polymeric materials that can affect the color and texture of the finished coating.

The raw materials for the production of polymer coatings are epoxy or polyurethane resins, which are applied to a concrete base. The thickness of the layer depends on the type of room and its features. The more intense the load, the thicker the layer should be.

Industrial floors made of polymer-cement mixture

To increase the density of concrete and level the surface of the concrete base, it is recommended to use polymer-cement mixtures. This material is endowed with a number of positive characteristics and its presence is especially necessary, for example, in garages where trucks and other large-size equipment are stored. Also, polymer-cement coating will be appropriate in parking lots, production workshops and storage facilities. In its properties, this material even surpasses polymer resins, because it is more durable and wear-resistant. Using a polymer-cement mixture allows you to get a “reliable” coating with a nice glossy surface “at the exit”. It will be possible to operate the polymer cement coating “at full power” 5 days after pouring.
