How to carry things from Turkey

Since in Turkey you can buy good-quality items that are several times cheaper in cost than in many domestic stores, tens of thousands of enterprising fellow citizens annually, and more than once, fly to this country for goods. Someone wants to dress themselves and their family, and someone sets a goal to make good money. In any case, the question arises of how to bring things from Turkey with the greatest benefit and without problems.

If you are going to Turkey to relax, and your purchase of things is clearly non-commercial (things are all one copy and the most different), then when crossing the border you have practically nothing to fear. In this case, consider the following points.

When you import into this country something valuable (a camera, video camera, gold items, etc.), be sure to declare them, otherwise you will not be able to prove that the items are not purchased, and you will have to pay for them. You can also export from Turkey duty-free valuables purchased in exchange, but take care of the information in advance.

If you decide to buy a carpet or something similar to cultural values, do not forget to grab a check, a certificate of purchase and a certificate from some museum that states that these things are not antique.

Find out in advance in the airline whose plane you will fly from Turkey about the rules for transporting goods. Usually allowed to carry 8-10 kg of hand luggage and 25-35 kg of luggage for free. Everything that you take on board in excess of the norm is paid separately.

Without paying a fee, you can carry things for personal use once a month for a total of not more than 5 thousand dollars. Money, in order to avoid problems, must be declared at customs, and the purchase of things must be confirmed by checks. Collect them in all stores where you shop. If you get a large amount, it is better to negotiate with the store so that you lower the value of the item in the check.

The same rules must be observed if you are traveling to Turkey in order to purchase a small consignment of goods, i.e. so many things that you will transport personally. But consider the following nuances. If you plan to make more than one trip to this country within a month so that your things are not taxed, you can do so. Do not buy anything on your first trip. When you return, go through customs along the red corridor and fill out the declaration that you have no goods. In this case, for the second time, you can take this declaration and take the goods duty-free (but the norm for weight and cost must be observed anyway).

So that your things are not recognized as a product, try to pack them so that they do not look like a product: distribute them in different bags and packages.

Perhaps it makes sense to send part of the goods home in parcels addressed to relatives, acquaintances or your sellers, because often this method of delivery of goods is cheaper. You only need to find out the maximum amount of the cost of things that you can send in the package.

If you take solid consignments of things, you can, firstly, negotiate with serious supplying companies that already have contacts with Turkish companies and deliver goods to different regions of Russia using cars, ferries, airplanes, etc. So you will avoid many problems related to customs. Secondly, even before traveling to Turkey, you can get information about the cost of cargo services of certain carriers that collect cargo of small entrepreneurs and deliver them to Russia. The amount that you have to pay them depends on the quality of the product, its volume or weight, on the range, availability of certificates, etc. A separate payment is cargo insurance. Of course, if you are going to Turkey for the first time, try to find someone who would help to understand all the nuances of cargo, so as not to be deceived and not to lose your load and money.
