How to extend a delivery contract

When working with suppliers and customers, managers are forced to enter into supply contracts. Firstly, tax legislation obliges organizations to conclude legal documents, and secondly, by drawing up a contract, you fix all the conditions, rights and obligations. The document is drawn up for a certain period, but it can be extended.

First of all, carefully read the previously concluded supply contract. If there is a condition on automatic prolongation in it, you do not need to draw up anything, since this term means automatic extension of the current contract. This condition takes effect if the organizations did not declare the legal document terminated within one month.

To protect your organization, make a statement that the contract is renewed in accordance with the relevant clause (indicate the one in which the condition for prolongation is indicated). On this document, a mark of consent must be put by the supplier (buyer). Application poplite to the main contract of delivery.

If there is no condition for automatic prolongation, enter into an additional agreement to the supply contract. Here indicate the number of the legal document, date of preparation. The first paragraph can be made identical to the beginning of the contract, just insert the phrase "Concluded an additional agreement to the supply contract

In the supplementary agreement, indicate the new term of the contract, write down that all conditions with the exception of the one in which the term is indicated, remain the same. Make a double copy of the document, one of which will be given to your counterparty, and the second should be kept with you. Be sure to sign and put a blue print of the organization's seal. Attach the additional agreement to the main supply contract.

Remember that you can extend the supply contract with an additional agreement for an unlimited period. If prolongation is present in it, it can be extended several times for the period indicated in the document. To avoid problems with the tax office after one renewal, draw up a new legal document.
