How to build a do-it-yourself farm

It is generally accepted that in modern Russia, agriculture is a loss-making business. But not rabbit breeding. Breeding rabbits is an economically viable occupation. Caring for animals is simple, it does not require much time, there is no difficulty in providing animals with food, but as a result, on the table all year round, delicious tasty meat all year round. And for all this, you just need to build a mini-farm and breed rabbits.

The mini-farm for rabbits consists of four cells in 2 tiers, 2 pairs each, four hay nurseries, 2 gravity feed feeders, 2 water drinkers, 2 mounted queen cells (with nests), a manure removal system and a system ventilation.

To make a frame (the basis for a mini-farm), use bars with a section of 45 * 90 mm or 45 * 40 mm from coniferous wood. After you assemble the frame, carefully paint it with nitro enamel (white). Make the remaining parts easily removable so that you can easily replace them during use.

Make details for hay nursery from waterproof plywood, 7-8 mm thick. Attach plywood parts using nails or screws to a frame of bars with a cross section of 40 * 45 mm. Hay nurseries will serve immediately as a door to the cell. The crib on the inside is covered with a galvanized mesh, in which the cell is 25 * 50 mm. When complete assembly, paint the outside with white nitro enamel.

Using the same technology, make a feed mill. For the frame, use 40x45 mm bars, but all wooden details must be upholstered with tin, otherwise the rabbits can gnaw them. Attach details from plywood to a rail 20 * 20 mm. Paint the feed box outside.

On the 20 * 20 mm bar, assemble the parts for the drinking water, but first glue all the inner sides of the parts or use a stapler to attach a foil insulation whose thickness is 4 mm. Similarly, build a queen cell and maternity ward. Carefully paint both of these rooms outside and inside with white nitro enamel.

To collect manure, make cones from slats 20 * 20 mm. Collect them with rivets, paint the inside with oil shale mastic.

Build the floor from the slats and cover them with a shredder made of galvanized sheet. It should be easily removable. Set the farm on brick posts, strictly horizontally. Several of these mini-farms, located under one roof, are called "shed." You can compose them at your discretion. Make sure the front of the farm is facing south. The roof can be covered with any material, you can also make trays for the drain of the rain bucket. Perform all electrical work in compliance with all rules and regulations. To maintain the desired water temperature in the watering place (+25 C), a temperature controller is required. One temperature controller is enough for 30-40 mini-farms.
