Perform an analysis of the translation services provided by companies in your city. Learn about the cost and timing of the work, find out some subtleties and nuances, for example, increasing the price for urgency or complexity of the text.

Determine the rates for your services based on preliminary research. Set prices so that your services as a freelancer are competitive. Think in advance what types of translations you can perform, whether you can take up large volumes of work, highly specialized texts, translation from Russian into a foreign language. If you have a translator’s diploma, you can certify your translations at a notary public or in public institutions. Other documents (certificates, international certificates), as a rule, are not suitable for this purpose. Set a separate price for a similar service.

Get the necessary resources to work. At a minimum, you should have a computer with Internet access, as well as special programs necessary for you. If you intend to work in any particular field, find thematic dictionaries, reference books, normative documentation.

Make a price list for your services and send it to large companies. Create an Internet page dedicated to your services. In the future, and subject to competent promotion, your personal website can become an interactive platform for attracting new customers, communication, feedback and exchange of experience.
