Organize your business in accordance with all the rules and regulations. Contact your local government, select a name for your company, obtain a business license and comply with all necessary legal requirements.

Choose the type of your business, take your niche in the market. Think about whether to sew custom-made business suits or casual wear. Or maybe it will be wedding dresses or home decor items? It is completely up to you.

Get the necessary equipment. If you do not plan to start your business using a family sewing machine, consider purchasing heavy sewing machines that have the ability to work with materials of various kinds. Study the reference literature to always be up to date with models which are actual for today. Get ironing boards, and possibly laundry equipment. Install computers with the necessary equipment to work and the ability to quickly communicate with customers.

Organize your workspace. Select a specific area where you will work. Install sewing equipment in an organized manner. If you intend to use several types of sewing machines, organize them, starting with the main ones used most often and gradually moving to others in the order of their use. Install cabinets or storage racks.
