A banner is, first of all, advertising, promotion of one or another type of services or goods via the Internet. Creating an ordinary static banner is quite simple. If you have Photoshop skills and are an advanced PC user, then this will not be difficult for you, and we will help in this.

You should immediately understand that a banner is just a GIF-image that is created in the true color palette. Usually the banner size is 468 by 60 pixels and its weight is about 20 Kb. However, the weight depends on the number of colors and brightness of the banner, so it can be more or less than indicated.

So, how to create a banner yourself.

Install, if there is no Adobe Photoshop graphic editor on your computer and run it.

Choose File - New, fill in the fields in accordance with the bottom figure.

Save the picture to your computer under the name banner.psd. To do this, select File - Save As - specify the save path.

Click on the Window menu - Show colors. From the presented palette, select the colors that will be the background of the banner.

Set the selected background. To do this, click on the Fill tool and apply the action. Now, before that, the transparent banner has a greenish backing.

Save the actions (Ctrl + S).

Find the desired image and by pressing Ctrl + O put it in Adobe Photoshop.

Select the picture (Ctrl + A) and copy (Ctrl + C).

Paste the image into our banner (Ctrl + V). Please note that the program automatically created a new layer in the layers palette.

Use Ctrl + T at the same time.

Hold the Shift key and create (fit) the size of our image to the desired one.

Click Enter.

Create another banner layer, the next one.

Left-click on the icon.

Create a new layer using elliptical selection, fill the resulting circle, for example, with black color.

Using a rectangular selection, create a rectangle and fill it with the desired color.

Save (Ctrl + S).

Select the eyedropper tool.

Select the desired color in the color picker.

Select print from the toolbox.

Click anywhere in the banner, set the desired font in the window that appears.

Click ok.

Type the text, fit it to the desired size (Ctrl + T and holding Shift), press Enter, holding Ctrl drag the text, for example, to our circle or another place. Save (Ctrl + S).

We turn to the palette of layers. Click on the Image - Image Size menu.

Fill in the required fields, click ok. At the same time, our image changed from 400 DPI to 72 DPI.

Choose File - Export to GIF89a. Fill in the fields, click ok.

In the appeared ExportGIF89 window in the place where File name enter the name of the file, that is, our banner and click on ok.
