How to get a fire alarm license

Obtaining a license for the installation, repair and maintenance of automatic fire alarm systems and automatic fire extinguishing systems is a rather time-consuming process. If you decide to create your own company to carry out this type of work, or if you decide to introduce a department to your staff that will be responsible for the production of this type of activity, then you need to do the following.

Determine for your company the types of automatic fire alarm systems and automatic fire extinguishing systems that you will mount and maintain in your activities.

Prepare a certificate of your material and technical base, which details all the machines and mechanisms available to you, indicating their nomenclature and quantity to carry out the volume of work you plan. The most important thing to remember here is that an assessment of the conformity of the material and technical base with the planned types of work and their adequacy should be carried out only at the stage of preparation of the act, which indicates the assessment of your compliance with the license requirements and conditions.

Think and imagine your system for monitoring the quality of work performed. In this case, you can submit: copies of the Quality Guide for the devices used; an arbitrary certificate, which will contain forms of quality control (input, operational and output), signed by you, with the application of the relevant documents.

Compose and submit an application to the licensing authority (in accordance with the legislation in force in this country in this organization, you should be provided with real assistance if you want to get a license). Also provide information on the qualifications of your employees who will be engaged in these types of works and services.

In order to verify the qualifications of your employees who perform installation and maintenance of automatic fire alarm systems and automatic fire extinguishing systems, you need to check if they have a higher or secondary education. Do not forget to check their work experience in the bodies of the state fire service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia (their work experience should be from five years).

Remember that half of the employees you hire in order to obtain a license in this type of activity must work for at least three years, and the term for passing their continuing education courses should not exceed five years.
