How to open a business in Russia

Many dream of their work. But skepticism, suggesting that Russia is not the best country for business, often makes it difficult to fulfill a dream. It hardly has a foundation: we have a lot of entrepreneurs. To open a business in Russia, it is important to understand the basic principles of its organization.

In any country, you need an idea to create a business. Russia is good for an entrepreneur in that it is still lagging behind more developed countries: our services sector is not so developed. This means that choosing an idea that works will be easy for you.

Having determined what exactly you want to open, you should draw up a business plan. It matters both to you, as it is an algorithm for creating your business, and for the investor. It is from this document that the investor will judge how promising your idea is and whether to invest in it. The simplest business plan should include information about the situation on the market of your services (goods), the services (goods) themselves, competitors, short-term and long-term goals of the business, payback, and indicators of its effectiveness.

The law requires that any business in our country be registered. The registration procedure seems simple, but in fact it takes a lot of time. To start activities under the law is possible only after registration (in contrast, for example, from Germany, where you can conduct business while being in the process of registration). Therefore, register as an individual entrepreneur or create a legal entity.

You can register as an individual entrepreneur yourself. This is done at the tax office at the place of registration. It is more difficult with a legal entity, because for its registration it will be necessary to collect a rather large package of documents and develop a charter. If you are not sure that you can do it yourself, entrust it to a law firm that specializes in providing such services.

In many cases, you will need a room to open a business. It can be bought or rented. The premises must be obtained permits SES and fire inspection.

At the first stage of doing business, a lot will depend on your employees. Try to hire the most experienced professionals, as mistakes made by beginners can greatly slow down your development. If you are not sure that you can find exactly the people you need, contact a recruitment agency or temporarily hire an experienced HR manager.

Business will not work if they do not know about it. Therefore, start an advertising campaign before opening your business. It’s not at all necessary to invest heavily in it, since there are well-proven inexpensive ways: contextual advertising on the Internet, promotion on blogs and social networks, calls to potential customers.
