How to equip a cash register

Almost any company has its own cash register, which stores at least a small amount of money. This money is allowed to be spent only on strictly limited purposes, and it is not possible to spend all the cash. Special care must be taken to monitor the safety of money.

Isolate the cash register premises, which are intended for the reception, temporary storage and distribution of cash. In multi-storey buildings, the ticket office should be located on intermediate floors. Two-story buildings should be equipped with a ticket office on the top floor. In one-story buildings, internal shutters are installed on the windows of the ticket office. Also, the room should have capital walls, strong floor and ceiling ceilings, reliable internal walls and partitions, an external door that opens outward and an internal one with a steel grill that opens towards the cash register’s internal premises.

Choose a suitable model of a fireproof or combined and conventional metal cabinet for storing cash and company securities Equip a special window for issuing money, install the selected safe for the safety of valuables and money, without fail attach it firmly to the building structures of the wall and floor with steel ruffs, install in the room a working fire extinguisher.

Think about how the cash will be transported to the cashier. Persons and drivers accompanying his vehicle must not disclose the route and the amount of delivered valuables and funds, and allow unauthorized persons unrelated to the company to the vehicle interior. Money is not allowed to be transported by public transport or on foot. In no case do not visit markets, shops and other similar places.

Remember that the safe at the end of the day is locked with a key and sealed with the seal of the cashier. At the same time, the cashier is obliged to be responsible for the safety of the keys to the metal cabinets and keep them in his possession together with the seal. He is forbidden to leave the keys in places previously agreed upon by the very same person, for any purpose to transfer them to outsiders or to make duplicates that are not accounted for on their own.
