Production of clothes on an industrial scale will require much more investment than a mini-atelier, which can be organized even within a private apartment. Do not forget that full-scale production will require a large area, as well as two or three teams of workers. However, workshop production also brings income incomparably greater than cottage workshops, therefore, with reasonable management, all investments should soon pay off.

You will need

  • - industrial premises with an area of 100 square meters;

  • - a set of equipment (5-7 universal machines, overlocks, button machines);

  • - Established relationships with several fabric suppliers;

  • - two teams of seamstresses, a foreman and a cutter in the staff.

Instruction manual

1

Start to select a room that would satisfy all your requirements and would not be too expensive for a start-up enterprise. You need to focus on an area of 100 square meters (that is how much space will be needed to equip the workplaces of one team), and to create a mini-office and a warehouse in production, you need at least 150-200 meters. The second prerequisite is a connection to a powerful electric line or at least the possibility of this connection - for the operation of the equipment you will need a voltage of 380 volts.

2

Decide which set of equipment you need. The selection of equipment depends on what types of clothes you are going to produce and what materials to work with. In any case, universal “grinding” machines will be used in the sewing industry, it is customary to determine the scale of the sewing enterprise by their number in the workshop. In the production of almost any type of clothing, overlocks and button-type semiautomatic devices, as well as a powerful steam iron, are still needed. All other machines for the production of clothes may be needed, if you choose any narrow profile, you can purchase them later.

3

Establish business relations with wholesale suppliers of fabrics in your region, trying to gain a good reputation and gradually achieve more favorable conditions for the acquisition of raw materials for your production. When choosing fabrics, you should always remember that far from any material can be suitable for your equipment. Particular attention should be paid to new fabrics, since it is likely that they will seem "unusual" to the machines, and this will certainly lead to marriage.

4

Make a staffing table for your sewing workshop, when you finally decide on how many personnel your company can service. In a simple production, several crews of seamstresses of 5-7 people each, headed by the foreman, as well as a cutter, work. At more “tech” sewing enterprises, a design engineer, fashion designer or designer is also involved. Equipment adjusters do not have to be staffed; you can simply call a third-party specialist if necessary.
